Board Custom Views Extension

Custom views help orgnizations apply multiple criteria and narrow down only the cards based on a specific criteria. With the Board Custom View extension, users can create and view multiple custom views from different boards on a single page, assisting better visibility and analysis.

Install Board Custom View extension

  1. Navigate to  and select Marketplace under Extensions in the menu.
  2. Search ‘Board Custom Views’ extension and select it.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and confirm the installation by ticking the boxes.
  5. Click Install.
  6. Under the General tab, choose your custom preferences for the extension.
    1. Application Name: Enter a preferred name for the extension.
    2. Visibility:
      1. Users: Select the users who can access this extension.
      2. Boards: Select the boards for which this extension must be configured.
  7. Click Install.
  8. Under the Connection tab, Authorize the connection.
  9. Under the Application Settings tab, you can create and edit custom views.

Create a Custom View 

  1. Navigate to the extension’s Application Settings tab.
  2. Click Create View.
  3. Enter a name for the view.
  4. Select a board for which the custom view is to be created.
  5. Choose the visibility of the view—Private: not shared with other users, Public: visible to everyone using the extension, Specific Users: select users, teams, or roles to share the view.
  6. Choose a criteria to filter this view.
    1. Click + to add more than one criteria, and click - to delete a criteria.  
    2. We support two types of operators:
      1. Use AND when it is mandatory to satisfy all the criteria.
      2. Use OR for either-or conditions.
  7. Click Create.
Note: Only 10 criteria can be added.

 
You can also create views from the Pages tab in the left panel.
 

Edit Custom View

  1. Navigate to the extension’s Application Settings tab.
  2. Click the edit icon under Actions of the view name.
  3. Make the necessary changes and click Update.
 
 

Delete Custom View

  1. Navigate to the extension’s Application Settings tab.
  2. Click the delete icon under Actions of the view name.
  3. Confirm your action.
 

Implementing Board Custom View extension

The custom views created using this extension can be viewed from the Pages tab in the left panel.
  1. Navigate to Pages.
  2. Select the extension name.
  3. All the custom views created using this extension are listed here.
  4. Click on a view name to view cards filtered in this view.
  5. Switch between list and grid views at the top bar.
 
 
The grid view displays all custom views in a single page making it easy for teams to visualize and analyze cards.
 
You can also create, edit, or delete views created by you from Pages.
 
Note:
  1. Admin users can edit or delete all views from Application Settings.
  2. Users can edit or delete views created by them from Pages.
