Create Cards

A user can create cards in a board if they are added to the board and granted the create card permission in that board.
 
To create cards in a  board :
  1. Navigate to the Boards  tab.
  2. Click the respective board under My Boards .
  3. Click New Card .
  4. Enter the card details and click Save .


If you’re not ready to create the card yet, you can save the entered details as a draft by clicking  Save as Draft .


  1. Cards can be assigned only to individual users.
  2. It is not mandatory to assign a card to a user during card creation. Users can be assigned at later stages of the card.
  3. Cards will be mapped to blueprints with matching or no criteria.  
  4. Visibility of the draft is restricted to each user.
  5. Card drafts cannot be accessed if:
    1. The form associated with the card is deleted or deactivated.
    2. User permissions to add cards is withdrawn.

Allow only specific users in a board to create cards  

To allow only specific users to create cards:
  1. Navigate to Boards and choose a board.
  2. Click  next to the board name and choose Manage Requesters
  3. All board users can add cards will be enabled by default.  Turn off this option and choose specific users from the drop-down. 

Now, only the selected users will be able to add cards to the respective board.
 

Allow users to create connected cards  

Connected cards let users create cards in another board and view the respective card from the main card's related section.
 
To allow users to create connected cards:
  1. Navigate to Boards and choose a board.
  2. Click   next to the board name and choose Manage Requesters
  3. Allow users to create connected cards will be disabled by default. Enable this option to allow users to create connected cards.

View card details

To view all the details of a card:
  1. Navigate to the Boards  module.
  2. Click the respective board under My Boards        .
  3. A list of all the cards in the respective board will be displayed.
  4. Click the card for which you would like to view the details.
  5. The ensuing page will hold all the card details like card name, card creator, associated board, current stage, associated blueprint, fields, comments and activities.

 
Card fields

Title

This field holds the card's title. All board users will have the permission to view and edit the Title field. 
 

Description

A short description about the card can be mentioned here. All board users will have the permission to view the description field, however, edit permission can be restricted for all users except admins. Admins and managers will be able to edit the description field of all cards. Members, participants, and requesters will only have permission to edit the description of their own cards.
 

Team

This field displays the team that can work on the card. The assignee must be a user from this team. The card can be picked up by any user from the team. All board users will have the permission to view the Team field, however, edit permission can be restricted for all users except admin. Admins and managers can view and edit the Team field for all cards. Members, participants, and requesters will only have permission to edit the Team field of their own cards.
 

Assignee

This field holds the user responsible for executing the card.

A user can pickup a card:
  1. When the user has view/ edit permission for the Assignee field
  2. When the user is an Admin
  3. When the user is part of the assigned Team
A user can assign a card to other users:
  1. When the user is an assignee of the card and also has Edit permission for the Assignee field
  2. When the card is assigned to the user's Team

Due on
 

This field holds the card's due date. All board users will have the permission to view/ edit the Due on field, however, this permission can be restricted for all users. Admins and managers will have the view/edit permission for the Due On field for all cards, while members, participants, and requesters will only have view/edit permission for their own cards.

 

Priority
   

Priority of the card can be specified here. It helps the assignee prioritize their work diligently. All board users will have the permission to view/edit the Priority field. However, this permission can be restricted for all users. Admins and managers will have the view/edit permission for the Priority field for all cards, while members, participants, and requesters will only have view/edit permission for their own cards.
 

Attachments

Any file related to the card can be attached here. The size of the attachment must be less than 65 MB. All board users will have the permission to view/ edit the Attachments field, however, this permission can be restricted for all users.  Admin and Manager will have the view/ edit permission for the Attachement field for all cards, while member, participant, and requesters will only have view/edit permission for their own cards.
 
Attachments can be downloaded or previewed. Attachment preview is supported only for these formats: all image files, pdf, txt, xml, jsp, json, java, html, htm, ppt, pptx, pps, ppsx, docx, doc, rtf, odt, docm, dot, dotm, and dotx.
 

Actions

You will be able to view and perform actions in the card if you have Add Card permissions in Board or if mentioned in 'Who can perform this transition?' section in Blueprint.  

Other fields

Other custom fields designed in the form can only be edited if you have both the view/ edit permission on the respective fields. This permission can be restricted for all users. Admins and managers will have the view/edit permission for the custom fields for all cards. Members, participants, and requesters will only have view/edit permission for their own cards.
  

Comments

Comments provide a space for initiating collaboration on the card. To edit comments, the user must have view/edit permission for the comment field. Admins and managers will have the view/edit permission for the Comments field of all cards. Members, participants, and requesters will only have view/edit permission for their own cards. Admin will also have delete permission for the Comments field of all cards. However, admin cannot exclusively delete the attachments in comments. 
   

Activities

All actions performed on the card are displayed as Activities. Every user will be able to view all user activities on the card.
