Projects (Testing environment) - An Overview

Early Access
This feature is not enabled for all users. If you'd like to try it out, please   email  our support team for early access.

Running a business can become complex as it grows. Bringing in new changes and enhancements is likely in any business process. While building new processes, it's always safer to test the changes before deploying them to the live environment, so that the new changes doesn't affect the existing processes. Qntrl offers Projects, a testing environment to test new automations and enhancements over the existing processes and improvize the business processes.

Need for testing environment in an Organization

Hands-on experience before deploying a change in the live environment helps to keep the business sane. This helps to eliminate potential issues in the product that may arise after deployment of the new processes, thereby keeping the current process undisturbed.

Edition: This feature is supported in the Enterprise trial and Enterprise edition.

Business scenarios

Create and test a new board in Projects

A new team has been created in an organization and they would like to set up their own process. In such cases, the respective users can create the board in Projects (test environment), test their new board, then deploy it to the production environment.

Update an existing Business rule with a new criteria

An existing business rule has to be updated with another new condition where the admin wants to trigger an email to the developer when the card transition is Development in Progress and the transition owner is a developer. This can be tested in a Project before making the change in the production environment.

Check how a new custom function works

If a card is closed, you can set up a custom function to @ mention the card owner and comment a congratulations message on the card.
