AI code assistant in Qntrl
Qntrl allows users to write scripts at the client and server level to carry out validations, auto-populate field values, fetch data from third-party apps, and also maintain data integrity and security within Qntrl. To automate code generation while working on these scripts, Qntrl AI Hub hosts AI code assistant.
You can describe the script you require to AI code assistant, which processes your request to generate a code. You can simply copy this code and execute it to obtain the end results.
For example, if your form has a dropdown field with different countries listed as options, and a phone number field to collect the user’s contact, you can setup a validation to verify if the phone number format matches the country selected by the user.

AI Code assistant in Client Scripts
Client scripts are used to create custom actions like performing calculations, auto-populating data, tracking delays, performing field-level validations, and so on to support operations that are not natively supported in Qntrl. Client scripts run on the web browser instead of the server and are coded with JavaScript. AI code assistant in client scripts gets details from the user and generates a code that can be readily used as client scripts. Here’s how:
- Navigate to Settings and select Client Scripts under Customization.
- Click New Script.
- Provide a script name, select a board, execution location, and execution trigger.
- Click Qntrl AI Code Assistant at the bottom-right corner.
- Provide a description of the code you require and hit enter.
- A code will be generated based on your description. Click Copy Code to copy it.
- Paste the code in the script editor. You can either use Command+P or right-click and select Paste to paste the code.
- You can provide different prompts to AI code assistant to tweak the code and obtain the desired result.
- Once the script is complete, Publish it.
AI Code assistant in CodeX
CodeX are server scripts that help you code company-specific business logic to manage database, perform time-consuming processes quickly, and automate activities in your business workflows. These scripts running on a web server help you retrieve, display, and auto-populate data based on the coded conditions. AI Code assistant in CodeX helps users generate code quickly by fetching detailed prompts of their business use case and providing executable chunks of code that can be used as server scripts.
- Navigate to Settings and select Scripts under CodeX in Advanced.
- Click New Script.
- Click Create in Start from scratch.
- Provide a script name, select an execution location, execution trigger, and board.
- Click Qntrl AI Code Assistant at the bottom right of the screen.
- Provide a description of the code you require and hit Enter.
- A code will be generated based on your description. Click Copy Code to copy it.
- Paste the code in the script editor. You can either use Command+P or right-click and select Paste to paste the code.
- You can provide different prompts to AI code assistant to tweak the code and obtain the desired result.
- Once the script is complete, Publish it.
AI Code assistant in Email In
Email In allows users to create cards in Qntrl by just emailing the details of the card to Qntrl. Email In supports Scripts as an advanced option where server scripts can be created to parse different inputs from the email. AI code assistant in Email In helps users generate server scripts to be configured in Email In.
- Navigate to Settings and select Email In under Customization.
- Select a board in the left and navigate to the Advanced Options tab.
- Click Add Script.
- Click Create in Start from scratch.
- Click Qntrl AI Code Assistant at the bottom-right corner of the popup.
- Provide a description of the code you require and hit enter.
- A code will be generated based on your description. Click Copy Code to copy it.
- Paste the code in the script editor. You can either use Command+P or right-click and select Paste to paste the code.
- You can provide different prompts to AI code assistant to tweak the code and obtain the desired result.
- Once the script is complete, Publish it.
