AI suggested fields in Qntrl

Fields are a significant part of Boards as they contain and organize the entire board’s data. It is important to add the right fields to your board as they shape your end-to-end workflow. One of Qntrl’s AI tools, Zia, assists you with field creation by suggesting relevant fields based on your description for the board. For example, for a board description stating ‘Automate software purchase and implementation process’, fields like software type, software vendor, implementation date, and other related fields are populated.

Let’s explore the different areas in which AI-suggestions are available.  
 

AI suggested fields: Creating new board from scratch  

Qntrl allows you to create a new board from the Boards menu in the left panel or from Settings > Boards. Either way, when you create a new board from scratch, Qntrl’s AI pops up, allowing you to enable AI-suggested field additions or generations for the board. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to Boards in the left menu and click New Board.
  2. Select Start from scratch.
    1. Fill in the board details like name and description.
  3. Enable Allow AI-suggested field addition? 
    1. This authorizes Qntrl to automatically add fields to the board based on the board name and description.
  4. Click Create.
    1. You will land on the Kanban board.
  5. Click … next to the board name in the left panel and select Manage Board.
  6. Under Create Form, you can modify the fields added by AI to suit your requirement.
  7. Select Suggested Fields tab in the left section to view the complete list of AI-suggested fields.
  8. You can edit the board description here to fetch better matching AI-suggested fields.
  9. Click Save and Next.


AI suggested fields: Create new board from settings  

  1. Navigate to Settings and select Boards from the left panel.
  2. Click Create.
    1. Fill in the board details like name and description.
  3. Enable Allow AI-suggested field generation? 
    1. This authorizes Qntrl to automatically generate fields to the board based on the board name and description.
  4. Click Save.
  5. The Suggested Fields tab in the left section lists all the AI-suggested fields.
  6. Drag and drop the required fields to the right panel to add them to the form.
  7. You can edit the board description to generate a different set of AI-suggested fields.
  8. Click Save and Next. 


AI suggested fields: Create new fields from During Transition in Blueprints 

While performing a transition, we might need to collect details about the work or provide a note to the user to convey an information. In such cases, we will need to set up a new field during the transition, where AI-suggestions can be of help. Let’s see how to use AI suggestions here:
  1. Navigate to a board and select Manage Board under more options.
  2. Select Step 2: Design Blueprint.
  3. Select a transition to add the field and navigate to the During section.
  4. Click Fields and Line Items, then click New.
    1. AI-suggested fields are listed based on the transition name and transition description.
  5. Click on a field name from the list. Make modifications to the field details, if required, and click OK.  
    1. The AI-suggested field gets added to the transition.
  6. Save and Validate the blueprint.


AI suggested fields: Add fields to boards from Quick Actions 

You can simply add new fields to your boards from quick actions in the left panel, corresponding to each board. Qntrl provides AI suggestions here, based on the transition name and transition description.
  1. Navigate to Boards in the left menu and select a board to add the field.
  2. Click More Options next to the board name and select Add Field from the dropdown.
  3. You can view AI-suggested fields here based on the transition name and transition description you previously entered. This can be edited here.
  4. Click on a field name from the list. Make modifications to the field details, if required, and click Add to add the field to the board’s form.
