Preferences

Manage your organization details in the  Preferences section. You can choose to configure your organizational preferences, such as organization name, owner, URL, date and time settings, and email domain here.   

Access Privilege
Preferences can be accessed only by the Organization Owner.

Change organization name and owner

To rename your organization,

  1. Navigate to   and select  Preferences under Organizations.
  2. Click  next to the organization name.
  3. You can now change the organization name. You can also change the organization's owner by selecting a user name from the dropdown. 
  4. Once the changes are done, click  Save


  • The organization name cannot contain special characters. Only numbers cannot be used to name the organization, but a mix of numbers and alphabets can be used.
  • Upon renaming the organization, the organization URL will not change. 
  • Admin users who accepted the invite to join Qntrl will only be displayed in the dropdown.
  • Upon changing the owner of the organization, the privileges will be transferred to the new owner. 

Delete organization

If you wish to discontinue Qntrl, you have the option to delete your organization. 

Before proceeding to delete the organization, 
  1. Deactivate all the users from your organization.
  2. Disable all the integrations.
  3. Downgrade your subscription to Free plan.
  4. Take a backup of your organization's data.

Only if all the above conditions are met, the organization can be deleted. 

To delete the organization: 

  1. Navigate to   and select  Preferences  under  Organizations.
  2. Click  Delete Organization  and confirm your action.
  • We highly recommend you back up your data before the organization is deleted.
  • Only the owner can delete an organization. 
  • Your organization's data will be deleted from our data center after 90 days. You cannot access or retrieve the data during this period.
  • Deleting your Qntrl organization will not delete your Zoho account.

Organization URL

By default, the organization name will be appended to Qntrl's URL to serve as Organization URL. However, you can opt to change this URL.

  1. Navigate to   and select  Preferences  under  Organizations.
  2. Under Organization URL , make required changes to the URL and click Update.   


 
  1. On changing the organization URL, the organization name will also be changed to maintain consistency.
  2. But, on changing the organization name, the organization URL will not be changed.
  3. After updating the URL, your account will be redirected to the new URL.
  4. The old URL will no longer work. 

Manage Notifications 

Manage notification preferences for all the users in your organization using this setting. Enable or disable the options to manage email and push notifications from Qntrl.


Receive notifications for Card activities 

Triggers notifications when a card is created, updated, or transitioned. 

Receive notifications for Common Transitions

Triggers notifications to the users authorized for common transitions, when other transitions are performed. Please note that this case is valid only when the common transition is linked to all other transitions of the blueprint. 

Receive notifications when mentioned in Comments

Triggers notifications to users when they are mentioned in card comments. 

Module Settings

Qntrl supports renaming individual modules to suit the business requirements of different organizations. These new names will replace the existing ones throughout the product.   

You can customize both singular and plural form of the module name.                



Rename Card Module

Users can rename Card  to a term more relatable to them like task, assignment, or request.


Date and Time Settings

You can choose the format in which date and time is displayed in your Qntrl account. Also, configure your work hour settings here.
  1. Navigate to   and select  Preferences  under  Organizations.
  2. Under  Date and Time Settings:
    1. Date Format : Select the date format followed by your organization. 
    2. Time Format : Select the time format followed by your organization. 
    3. Work Hours : Set up the ideal working hours followed by your organization.
    4. Week Starts On : Select the day on which your work week starts.
    5. Days Off : Select the days on which your organization doesn’t work.
    6. Time Zone : Select the time zone to be used while executing SLAs and Automated transitions. 
  3. Click Update.  


Manage Portal Mode 

Restrict users from making further changes in production environment. 
In the production environment, you can enable read-only mode to prevent any user from making modifications.

Enable read-only mode

  1. Navigate to and select Preferences under Organization.
  2. Turn on Switch portal to read only mode under Manage Portal Mode.


Customize Email Domain

Notifications from Qntrl are usually sent from a default email address. However, you can customize this email address to send personalized notifications from your organization.  

  1. Navigate to   and select  Preferences  under  Organizations.
  2. Under  Customize Email Domain, enter the email address and click  Verify.
    1. A host name and host value will be generated.


  3. Log in to your DNS manager and add the generated host name and value to the TXT record. 
    1. These values must be available in the TXT record as long as you use Qntrl.


  4. After configuring your DNS, click the  Verify Domain  button in Customize Email Domain.
    1. A verification code will be sent to your email address.
  5. Enter the code in the  Verification Code box and click  Verify Email
    1. If you don't receive the code, click  Resend Verification Code


Once your domain and email address is verified, all Qntrl notifications will be sent from the customized email address. 

  1. Public domain email addresses are not allowed.
  2. If the email domain verification fails, check the TXT record of your DNS manager for misconfiguration of host name and value. 

Edit Email Address

You can also change the customized email address.
  1. Click  next to  Email Address.
  2. Enter a new email address and click  Verify Email.  
  3. Confirm your action. 
  4. Verify your domain and email address as before. 
If you edit the email address, then fail to verify the new domain or email, notifications will be sent from the default email address of Qntrl.
